The week is just starting at NGS2012, and it’s already been fantastic! Here are some of the highlights from our first day in action:
Jennifer Holik and Stephanie Pitcher Fishman started the day off right with D. Joshua Taylor. What a nice guy! And? He loved Jennifer’s books. (Who doesn’t?)
Next, the IDG Gang met up for a photo at Maia’s Books. Check it out here: Say Cheese!
ProGen had their first meet up and photo for NGS2012. It was fantastic to spend a little bit of time with this amazing group of people. Shelley Bishop (ProGen 5), Jennifer Holik (ProGen 10) and Stephanie Pitcher Fishman (currently in ProGen15) made the rounds. Some very interesting comments were had, so make sure you check back for more updates once Steph has had time to process it and record it!
Jennifer Alford votes for the Thomas Jones seminar Strategies for Unfindable Ancestors as the best seminar for today.
Vendors were seen, people were met, and friendships were turned from Twitter to “In Real Life.”
Next up – the Geneabloggers Meetup. If anyone is in town for NGS2012 and would like to join us, stop by Champ’s Bar & Grill at the Hyatt at 7:30pm EST.
What’s your NGS story? We’d love to hear it!

Wish I was there! You guys have one more day. So many searches, so little time! Sounds so valuable. I would have gone to the “Unfindable Ancestors” seminar. I wonder if they knew, back then, that we would be looking for them now? So they hid from the census. Or something. Very clever of them. The Civil War records info today sounded great.
I agree, Mariann. IT looks like everyone is having a great time. I cannot wait to get more details on the Civil War records, as I am just started researching mine.
