IDG Week in Review

Thank you to everyone who made this first week of The In-Depth Genealogy such a success! We could not have done it without each person involved.

As we state in our mission statement, The In-Depth Genealogist strives to be a resource for genealogists of all levels. We hope that you’ll be able to find something that will speak to you where you are.

This week, we’ve introduced:

  • Our daily blog posts. Most days include multiple posts. Our goal is to provide you with useful and timely information. From ephemera to book reviews, we’ve covered a wide variety of topics this week. Make sure you take a moment to read those you’ve missed.
  • Our writers and editors. You can find more information about us through the pages and blog posts on the website. Be sure to visit the websites of our contributors. You’ll find these linked in the right side-bar.
  • Our forums. We’re so excited about this! It will be a place that we can share and learn from each other. Please join us. We’d love to hear your questions and opinions on a variety of subjects from research to resources.
  • Our first big contests. We started the week with a surprise contest on twitter and have ended it with our Forward to Win contest – and you still have time to participate! We look forward to more fun giveaways and contests in each issue (and in between!)
  • Our first guest blog post on Saturday. We are so honored and humbled that Thomas MacEntee shared his thoughts on collaboration and crowd sourcing within the genealogy community.
  • Our community is accessible. Find out how you can Go In-Depth.

Don’t forget that we’d love for you to be part of the In-Depth team! We’re currently looking for regular and guest writers, guest bloggers, and reviewers. Have you written a book or created a product for the genealogy community? If you would like to have your product or service reviewed or would be interested in donating something for our upcoming giveaways please contact us.

We’ve got some exciting additions coming this week:

  • A new writer joins the team!
  • Book and website reviews make their appearance a weekly habit.
  • Another guest blogger stops by for a visit.
  • The resources you’ll find here will grow and grow!
  • And so much more!

We’re glad that you joined us. If you like what you see don’t forget to join us on Twitter and Facebook.

Always happy to provide guest posts. I blog at Http://saveeverystep.wordpress.com about family nostalgia and the need to save family memories (of the living as much as the dead)! Let me know if you are interested in a guest item…

  3. Helen, thanks for taking the time to read and leave a comment. We appreciate it. We will be contacting you.
