BCG?

Is anybody currently pursuing the BCG? I've been thinking about it… compiling some notes and general plan for the process.

Getting my CG is on my plan. Well, not sure if I will go the BCG route or the ICAPGEN route (but probably will go for my CG.) It will be a while. I just started ProGen a few months ago and have my certificates through NIGS to finish. Then I can think about it. lol

I'd love to hear what you find and about the process once you start.

Its on my mind also. I've been cleaning up my Ancestry/FTM databases to reflect the BCG citatation standards even though those are evidence rather than conclusion based formats. I had already been writing 'proof arguments' for my personal family site for some time. I've also been transcribing and abstracting for years. Now I have a format to follow.

I won't make my final decision until after FGS-Birmingham. I'll go to the BCG presentation and I'll go by the booth to see sample portfolios. I think that will be the deciding factor for me.

My clients now are those that know my work through my Ancestry trees or my personal genealogy site. They are already confident in my abilities. However, and especially with the new terms of use at Ancestry, I think the Certification will help with future client solicitation as I'll have to go outside my current base.

I’ve been a genealogy hobbyist since 1998. Seriously began helping others in early 2000′s. Hosting my personal genealogy on the web for the last two years. This year, I’m launching two new personal genea sites with blogging features and hanging out my shingle. I am currently located in the Hudson Valley region of New York.
